About Travel Awards
Student travel awards are available and provide financial support for students participating in the Symposium on Research in Child Language Disorders (SRCLD). These awards are funded by NIH Conference Grant # R13 DC001677 for students from the US and by private contributions to the symposium to support international students.

Students at the undergraduate, masters, doctoral and post-doctoral level are encouraged to apply for travel awards, especially those from under-represented minorities.

Priorities for funding are:
  1. First author on an accepted paper or poster.
  2. An author on an accepted paper or poster.
  3. Submitted a paper for the program.
  4. Student interested in attending, not presenting.
A number of awards have been set aside for under-represented minority students. International students studying in the United States must present the following: (1) passport (2) I-94 form (3) I-20 form (4) social security number or ITIN

All applicants must have an advisor write a brief letter of support describing how attending the SRCLD would benefit the student in his or her professional interests. When completing an online travel award application, instructions for submitting the letter of support will be included in the confirmation email that gets sent to the applicant.

We anticipate that notification of awards will be sent in April. Those students who receive awards will be reimbursed at the close of the symposium providing we have all necessary documentation.

Important Information for Travel Award Recipients
1) A U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident) who accepts a travel award must complete an IRS Form W-9 with their Social Security number and mailing address in order to receive payment. Awards are distributed at the close of the conference.
