Student travel awards are
available and provide financial support for students participating in the
Symposium on Research in Child Language Disorders (SRCLD). These awards are
funded by NIH Conference Grant # R13 DC01677 for students from the US and by
private contributions to the symposium to support international students.
Students at the undergraduate, masters, doctoral and post-doctoral level are
encouraged to apply for travel awards.
Priorities for funding are:
-
First author on an accepted paper or poster.
-
An author on an accepted paper or poster.
-
Submitted a paper for the program.
-
Student interested in attending, not presenting.
A number of awards have been set aside for under-represented minority students.
International students studying in the United States must present the
following: (1) passport (2) I-94 form (3) I-20 form (4) social security number or ITIN
The student's advisor must write a brief letter of support describing how
attending the SRCLD would benefit the student in his or her professional
interests. When completing an online travel award application, instructions for submitting the letter of support
will be included in the confirmation email that gets sent to the applicant. If a paper application is completed, the support letter should
be mailed to the address indicated on the application.
We anticipate that notification of awards will be sent in April.
Those students who receive awards will be reimbursed at the close
of the symposium providing we have all necessary documentation.
