The topic of this talk is measurement of narrative discourse. Critical issues concern the stability of storytelling across elicitation contexts, developmentally-sensitive indices of narration, efficient and reliable scoring techniques, discrimination power, and cultural bias. Gillam will present narrative data from a national sample of 1,200 children between the ages of 5 and 11 years. |
