Abstract
This session will focus on measuring treatment outcomes in research and practice. The presenters will review the definitive and surrogate measures that have been reported in the treatment literature. They will comment on the reliability, validity, and informativeness of using standardized tests, language sample analyses, process measures, and questionnaires to evaluate the outcomes of language intervention with preschool and school-age children. The session will conclude with a discussion of the relationships between research questions, levels of evidence in research, and measurement issues.
